⚾ Drew Brees and Vuori Founder Bid to Buy the Padres

Big names with local ties are making a move on the Padres. Former Chargers quarterback Drew Brees has teamed up with Vuori founder Joe Kudla to submit a bid to purchase the team. The Padres were put up for sale in late 2025, two years after the passing of former chairman Peter Seidler. The franchise is widely expected to sell for somewhere between $2 billion and $3 billion. Brees and Kudla are one of five groups in the mix, alongside notable contenders including Warriors owner Joe Lacob.
The potential ownership pairing feels especially local. Brees began his NFL career in San Diego, and Kudla, a USD alum, built Vuori into a global brand headquartered in Carlsbad. And honestly, if Vuori ends up designing the jerseys, we might at least be the most comfortable team in baseball, which can only improve our odds of finally winning the World Series.
🏠 600+ Properties Are Heading to San Diego Tax Auction

If you have ever been curious about how county tax auctions work, here is your chance to see it up close. San Diego County has opened registration for its annual online property tax auction, with 600+ properties set to go up for bid March 13 through 18. The properties have been in tax default for at least five years and include various improved parcels, unimproved lots, and timeshares.
Interested bidders must register online by March 3 and submit a refundable $1,000 deposit plus a $35 processing fee. All sales are final, and the county strongly encourages buyers to research the process carefully. Property owners still have until 5pm on March 12 to pay overdue taxes and avoid going to auction. If you want to learn more, check out the list of properties heading for auction.

Until next time,
